     A special event, hosted by a special man. On September 29, 1957, the New York Giants played their final game at the Polo Grounds. Moe Resner brought his movie camera with him.
     In this different era, Moe was allowed to walk on the field and mingle with ballplayers and baseball executives. It’s all captured in End of an Era, a captivating documentary. Perhaps the greatest amateur baseball documentary ever made.

Two members of the NYGPS were speakers at the 24th Annual Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture this past weekend.  Ed Logan spoke of his life and experences as a batboy for the NY Giants, (open link) page.aspx?pid=620&storyid1816=284&ncs1816=3&erid=3568968&trid=bc3b136e-8e09-48a2-be99-2261a9ea6b1e, while Perry Barber spoke of the life of being a female umpire. The NYGPS now has a Facebook Page!!  Hopefully this will get the word out to more fans of our website and organization who might stumble upon us by searching Facebook.  They might even post new information on our beloved NY Giants. To get to the page, click on the “Facebook” link on the tool bar and then when this appears “Visit us on Facebook” click on the blue Facebook word.  Sign in if you have an account or register to get an account if you like.  It would be helpful to respond on the page that you “Like” it (if you do) as the more members who state this, the more we can do as far as linking the Website the Yahoo Page and now the Facebook Page together!-Gary

To date we have over 115 great photos about the NY Giants!! We will add to them as we obtain more. Truly great pictures of Bob Weinstein and Rich McCabe, former batboys for the team, photos of tributes at AT&T Park, plaques of all Hall of Famers who wore the NY Giants uniform, and much more.

Thanks to “Dan the Man” our resident WEBMASTER, we are now linked to a yahoo group page by the same name.  This will enable all members to view and post photos, view and post links, view and post messages, participate in polls, and enter a chat room to talk Giants Baseball, then and now!  All you need to do is click on the tool bar above, that says Photos/Forums/Chat/Links/ Members/Polls.  When it opens, click on the link that says(Here is a direct link to our Yahoo groups page. Login required.).  You only need to set up an account which is easy and free of charge.  Look for it at top right above Polo Grounds picture where is says in blue, JOIN GROUP. Then go to the bottom and set up a new account if you don’t have a yahoo account already.  The next time you sign in you will only need to sign in on the left side half way down.  Hope to see many of you there!!
